If you have iCloud Photos enabled, you can access the video from all Apple devices signed into the same iCloud account. Drag the exported movie file into the Photos app to add the movie to your photo library. Choose a location to save the video file, then click Save. Choosing a higher resolution produces a larger file that’s great for viewing on a Mac or on a high-definition television (HDTV) through Apple TV. Choosing a lower resolution produces a smaller file that uploads to the web more quickly. The default resolution is based on the content of your movie. Click the Resolution pop-up menu and choose a size for your video.If you’re editing a project, click the Share button. From the Projects browser, select the iMovie project you want to send, click the More button, then choose Share Project.If you want to email the movie using another email client or other service, you should also save the movie as a file. Make sure “Movie to QuickTime Movie” is selected for “Export.When you save the movie as a file, you can add the movie to your Photos library, store it in iCloud Drive, or save it in another location.This will be a compressed MOV version of your project that is recommended for nearly all means of distribution, including being uploaded to YouTube or any other video sharing website. You can check the “Prepare for Internet Streaming” box and select “Fast Start.” It is recommended to uncheck this box.Select “Apple ProRes 422” for “Compression Type.”.Make sure “Movie to QuickTime Movie” is selected for “Export.”.Go to the General Profiles > select to encode to Mp4 with H.264. Once the video is loaded, a screen will pop up to let you select the output format. It accepts all iMovie exported files in 4K, 1080P, 720P, etc. Choose a save location, such as your external hard drive. Then open the app and click the 'Add Video' button to load the iMovie video.You can later use this MOV for burning to DVD using iDVD (Mac) or Windows DVD Maker (Windows). If your project settings are set up correctly, this will be the highest-quality video possible for your project. iMovie is a great beginner-friendly tool for editing your videos on Mac, iPhone, or iPad. It is highly recommended to bring an external hard drive on which to store all your files. User files on a GroundWorks computer are not safe from deletion. Save the exported file to an appropriate place. Tweak the Resolution and Quality until the file size is less than 500 MB. Look at the options for changing the Resolution and Quality of your movie. Quality differences may not be noticeable to the untrained eye or can only be discerned upon. As you have noted, quality is in the eye of the beholder. Share your movie using the ‘File’ option. Hi, Pro res has a higher bit rate, therefore more bits of information per unit of time, therefore more file size, and presumably better quality.
